  • Has your idea of what makes a good friend changed as you’ve gotten older?

I have not changed. That’s because my friends haven’t changed since childhood. We have been friends for over 36 years. • Barcelona

I thought I had posted photos, but not yet… Barcelona is my favorite city in Spain. I have visited twice. The Barcelona Olympics were held in 1992. I probably like Barcelona more than Alicante. Why? Because there is beautiful architecture by Antoni Gaudí. Antoni Gaudí was born in 1852 and died in 1926. Most of…

  • Mariner of the Seas

I want to share my cruise experience. I went on a cruise trip with classmates when I was a college student at Hospitality Management. The university offered a discounted cruise program to students. Cruise trips are very expensive in Japan. I asked a professor if I could bring my husband. He said OK. Two professors…

  • Write about a few of your favorite family traditions.

Over 20 years ago, I left my Japanese family. But I still like Japanese tradition and culture. I think New Year’s Day is my favorite. When I used to live with my grandparents, they gave me otoshidama (お年玉) every year. Otoshidama is giving gifts of money to children. Because I was the oldest among the…

Photos by LILI @liliflorida on Tumblr

What’s the trait you value most about yourself? 長い休憩だと思う…(笑)   Photo by istock @liliflorida on Tumblr

  • Think back on your most memorable road trip.

Every trip is memorable. I went on road trips in Japan, Europe, and America. I share two videos. Do you know where they are? I always plan a trip. Between 2000 and 2022, I booked an RV (recreational vehicle) at Cruise America. The rental rates vary based on locations, dates, and sizes. Additional fees are…

  • Pearl Harbor National Memorial

I hesitated to share photos I took at Pearl Harbor. But my eldest daughter is studying American history. According to the history I learned in Japan, World War II began in Europe in 1939. The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, and Japan and the US entered the war. Do you know what double rainbows…

Photo by Pinterest @liliflorida on Tumblr

  • December

My Japanese friend arrived on Christmas Eve and stayed until this morning. While she was staying in Florida, we went to the beach and shopping. Have you ever seen pelicans? I saw wild pelicans so close.   The weather is nice. But yesterday and today are cold. The average temperature is 60°F (15°C).   Photos…

  • Happy New Year!

Design by LILI @liliflorida on Tumblr

Photos by LILI @liliflorida on Tumblr
