I used to play Super Mario. To be more specific, my grandfather had a game console called the Famicom. We played Mahjong, golf, and Pac-Man together.

The Famicom is a video game console that Nintendo released in 1983. It is called Family Computer (the Home Cassette Type Video Game) in Japanese.

Super Mario Bros. was released in 1985, and it became very popular.

The production of the Famicom officially ended in 2003. Instead, Nintendo released newer consoles. I still have a Nintendo DS.

My grandfather was interested in new electronics, but my grandmother didn’t like changes. Several times, I have written about my teenage years. I went to the former all-boys school. (I entered the school soon after accepting female students.) I began going to arcades with friends. I often competed with male students in action and racing games.

Two weeks ago, I played Tekken at the arcade in Florida. Tekken is a Japanese fighting game. Although I hadn’t played it for a long time, I won.

Well, my wrist had hurt for two days…😄

I used to play Super Mario a lot, too. By the way, have you ever wondered if all those Marios who fell down the well because of a control slip might be piled up as skeletons by now? (^-^*)

Yes! How many skeletons are there by now? (^_^;)

I was very poor in computer games I also tried Mario and pool and initial versions of games that later coalesced into block breaker type of games candy crush et al, but it never seemed to be my passion, I played chess online, but with humans across continents, and now on mobile app.

I used to play soda crush (similar to candy crush). I was addicted to playing it. One day, I was tired and stopped.

Now I enjoy word spells and mahjong apps. I also downloaded other apps. Chess looks fun 🙂

What a lovely trip down memory lane! 😊🎮 It’s wonderful that you have such precious memories of playing video games with your grandfather. Those moments make gaming much more than entertainment; they become cherished family memories. And congratulations on winning at Tekken after such a long break! 😂🏆 Your wrist may be reminding you that you’re not a teenager anymore, but your competitive spirit is still going strong! Thank you for sharing this nostalgic story. Some childhood joys never grow old! ❤️

Thank you! Sometimes I wonder what I am doing at this age…but playing games is one of my hobbies. Last Friday, I went to the arcade with my family. Every time, I win prizes. “I will not go home with an empty hand” is my motto. Haha 😄

Pac-Man is a classic. I still see it around sometimes.

Yes, it is a fun game! I think Gradius, Pinball, and Tetris are also still popular…😊
