I found old electronics. I am not sure of the difference between “old” and “vintage.” Generally speaking, “vintage” refers to items that are more than 20 years old.

Over 20 years ago, Vodafone was a major mobile networking company in Japan. My prepaid phone had simple tools for calling and texting.

In 2006, Softbank acquired the Vodafone Japanese division. I think I bought a new phone soon after the new model was released. I remember it was expensive. I took it to Spain (used in Germany and Spain). I didn’t know about international roaming fees. After returning to Japan, I received a bill. I was charged $2000!

I called the phone company and requested to pay later. Because I didn’t have any money. I worked every day and paid without penalty.

Until 2010, the Nintendo DS was very popular. As you know, I like games. I bought the Nintendo DS2 and often played Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and Puyo Puyo games.

Unfortunately, they stopped working. But I don’t want to throw them away.

昔の電子機器を見つけました。英語で、「old」と「vintage」の違いがよく分からず。一般的に「vintage」は、20年以上経ってるものとか。

20年以上前、ボーダフォンは日本で大手携帯電話会社でした。当時、プリペイド式の携帯電話を持ってて、通話とメールしかできない簡単な機能だったけど。

2006年、ソフトバンクがボーダフォンの日本法人を買収。私は、新機種が発売されてすぐ新しい携帯電話を買ったと思います。高かったから、覚えてるんですが。それをスペインに持って行きました。海外ローミングにお金がかかることを知らなくて、日本に戻ったら、請求書が届いてました。はい、2000ドル！ (ありえない…笑)

携帯電話会社に電話して、支払い日を遅らせてもらうようにお願いしました。だって、お金が全然なかったから。毎日働いて、遅延料金なしで全額払いました。

2010年まで、ニンテンドーDSはとても人気がありました。ご存知の通り、私はゲーム好き。ニンテンドーDS2を買って、「どうぶつの森」、「マリオカート」、「ぷよぷよ」でよく遊んでました。

残念ながら、今では全部動かなくなったけど。やっぱり、捨てたくはないかな。
