Cat Café

Do you know a cat café (猫カフェ)?

According to Wikipedia, the world’s first cat café opened in Taiwan. It became popular among tourists, and the concept spread to Japan.

In my hometown, there are several cat cafés. They provide a safe, clean, happy environment for cats. In some places, you can drink or eat while interacting with cats.

This place served only drinks. Per hour was 1,250 yen ($7.85).

I understand people disagree with the concept of cat cafés. Cats are independent and territorial. Living with other cats is stressful. The other problem is the risk of disease transmission between cats or between cats and humans.

Each cat café has different rules. I believe that most cat café owners are animal lovers. They do the business for the purpose of rescuing and finding new homes.
