Do you believe in minimalism?

Yes, I am a minimalist. I changed my mind during the COVID-19 pandemic. I cleaned out the closet and stopped buying new clothes and bags.

Benefits of a minimalist lifestyle

  • Easy to clean
  • More free space
  • Save money
  • Less stress

I returned to my hometown this month. I took only one carry-on bag and one backpack. While traveling, I stayed at budget hotels. I used the hotel-provided pajamas and complimentary disposable slippers, shampoo, body lotion, and pens. I was fine.

I don’t need to compare myself to others now. I feel happier than before.

“I love this perspective. There is so much quiet power in realizing that ‘less’ truly creates room for ‘more’—more peace, more freedom, and more happiness. Your travel story is such a great example of how liberation comes from letting go of the excess. Thank you for the inspiration!

I think living simply is better. I shared the Japanese word 衣食住 before. For living, 3 basic needs are 食 (food), 衣 (clothing), and 住 (shelter/housing). Some people may add water to them…🙂

“That is a great point, Lili. Bringing it back to the core necessities—food, clothing, and shelter—really helps clarify what is actually essential. It’s a wonderful reminder that minimalism isn’t just about ‘less,’ but about focusing on what is truly foundational.”
