I want to share my cruise experience. I went on a cruise trip with classmates when I was a college student at Hospitality Management. The university offered a discounted cruise program to students. Cruise trips are very expensive in Japan. I asked a professor if I could bring my husband. He said OK. Two professors accompanied us and brought their families.

All participants for the program were required to attend lectures on the ship and see the crews’ jobs. The first day, I was so excited. My husband as well. We were exploring inside the cruise ship and talking to the crew. Crews came from different countries. They were mostly from Latin America and Asia.

Our housekeeper was from Nicaragua. He said that he misses his family because he spends two-thirds of the year at sea. When we saw him, we talked in Spanish. He was a good artist. He cleaned our room every day and left his towel art. We were looking forward to seeing his art.
My husband was on vacation, but I was a student. I attended lectures early in the morning. The worst thing was that the subject was maritime law. I didn’t understand at all. I was one of few foreign (non-American) students. I asked a friend what other (American) students thought about the lecture. She said to me, “Don’t worry, I don’t understand either!” The lecture topic was very difficult.
I attended lectures every day and submitted assignments. Sometimes I was irritated with my husband. He always had a fun time.

And we saw the crews’ workplaces and sleep areas.
I am going to show more photos later.
