How was your weekend?

I visited Toyama on Sunday. My friend lives there, so we traveled to the northern region.

The Iwase area is well known as a historic port town. During the Edo Period (1603-1867), Kitamae cargo ships served those that crossed the Sea of Japan.

Returning to downtown, we headed to the Toyama Glass Art Museum. Last year, the New York Times featured the museum in the “52 Places to Go in 2025” list.

Toyama is one of the top seafood destinations in Japan. Sake is also good. We had dinner at Izakaya (Japanese bar).

As the last destination, we stopped by Kansui Park. Taking photos at night was not easy, but I tried.

      Thank you. Compared to Tokyo and Kyoto, Toyama is not so famous. But the Kurobe Gorge (part of the Northern Japan Alps) is a popular tourist destination. You can see a beautiful river and mountains.

        That sounds absolutely beautiful 🌿✨

        Toyama may be less famous compared to Tokyo or Kyoto, but places like the Kurobe Gorge really show how much hidden natural beauty Japan has to offer. A river flowing through the Northern Alps surrounded by mountains must feel incredibly peaceful and powerful at the same time 🏔️💙

    ホテルだけ予約して、まだ計画を立てていなかったので、参考になります！！

    ニューヨークタイムズに掲載されたのというのは、ニュースで見た気がします。
    ガラス美術館、行ってみたいです(^^)/

    富山のお魚、美味しいっていいますよね～😋
    そして日本酒も🍶
    このお店はどちらの居酒屋ですか？
    富山駅周辺でお薦めのお店とかありますか？
    なんかいろいろすいません…(^-^;

      私も富山に赴任中の友人(昔はよく一緒に旅した幼なじみ)が案内してくれたので、気分は観光客でした…(笑) 富山市の方は、立山エリアとはまた違う面白さがあると思います。

      もし富山市内に1日滞在予定であれば、「市内電車・バス１日ふりーきっぷ(大人1人650円)」を買うとお得です。岩瀬エリアまでは、富山駅から20分ぐらいかな。レトロな街並みが見れて、お酒の試飲ができるスポットもあります。ふりーきっぷのサイト → https://www.chitetsu.co.jp/?p=1002

      行った居酒屋は、「ぎんぎょ伍式」というところです。地元でも人気のお店なので、事前に予約した方がいいかも…私達は開店10分前にお店に行って、「午後5時から空席はありますか？」って聞いた超迷惑な客だったんですが、「午後7時までに食べ終わるならいいですよ～」って言われました。強引に押しかけたのに、親切に対応してくださったお店の方には感謝です。開店と同時に、店内は満席でした。

      食べログのレビューにも書きましたが、おすすめは、「お刺身セット」と「だし巻き玉子」。もしデザートまでいけるなら、「チーズケーキ」がめっちゃ濃厚で美味しかったです。あと、お酒は、「勝駒」が人気。食べログ → https://tabelog.com/rvwr/liliflorida/rvwdtl/B528887582/

      お店から「富山駅」と「富岩運河環水公園」までは、歩いて行けます。食後の運動のために、「富岩運河環水公園」に行って、「日本一きれいなスタバ」でコーヒーを飲んで、その後は夜景の写真を撮りました。スタバは、日中はかなり混雑するので、人が少ない午後8時以降がおすすめかな…夫婦や恋人同士で行くなら、ロマンチックな時間を過ごせると思います 😊 私達は友人なので、お金や老後の話とかしてましたけど…🤣🤣🤣
