If I shared my ability here, it would not be a secret. I have absolute pitch. It is also known as perfect pitch.
Absolute pitch is the ability to name a musical note after hearing music. According to some data, approximately 1 in 10,000 people have it. I tell you. If you have music training at a young age (starting at 3 years old), you will develop the ability.
When I was young, I practiced piano every day. I liked playing the piano. I still love music. I can identify the key of a given piece of music and the pitches of common everyday sounds.
Unfortunately, I am not a musician. I am sensitive to sounds. If I pay attention to every sound, even ambulance sirens and the birds chirping sound like music.
For example, the Japanese ambulance siren sounds “pii-pou-pii-pou.” It sounds like “si(B)-so(G)-si(B)-so(G)” to me.
I am getting older, so my hearing is not the same as before.
I wish to have a quiet life. After retiring, I want to live surrounded by nature.
