Shohoji

I am in my hometown now.

Yesterday, I went to Gifu Prefecture, which is located next to Aichi Prefecture. I reunited with a female friend from high school. We talked and ate lunch together.

We also went to see the Gifu Great Buddha. It is 13.7 meters tall and completed in 1832.

Probably, the Gifu Great Buddha is one of the Three Great Buddhas. The Great Buddha of Nara and the Great Buddha of Kamakura are very famous. The third one is not sure.

The temple was very quiet. I was able to relax.

昨日は、愛知県の隣にある岐阜県に行ってきました。高校時代の女友達と、25年ぶりに再会。一緒に話したり、ランチを食べたり。

岐阜大仏も見に行きました。高さは13.7メートルで、1832年に完成。

岐阜大仏は、「日本三大仏」の1つとされている情報も。奈良の大仏や鎌倉の大仏はとても有名だけど、3つ目は他にもあるようなことを聞いたことがあるような…

お寺 (正法寺) は、とても静かでした。

癒されたと思う… (笑)

    What a lovely way to spend time in your hometown! Reuniting with an old school friend after so many years must have brought back wonderful memories. The Gifu Great Buddha sounds magnificent, and its peaceful temple surroundings must have offered a beautiful opportunity for reflection and relaxation. I always find such historical and spiritual places fascinating because they connect us with the past while bringing peace to the present.
