USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park：2703 Battleship Pkwy, Mobile, AL 36602
A few years ago, we visited a nearby town, but the road was closed due to flooding. This time, the weather was nice. We saw the battleship.
The USS Alabama operated along the U.S. East Coast between 1942 and 1943. In 1945, the battleship rejoined the fleet for operations in the Western Pacific. After World War II, it helped to return veterans to the mainland.
In Japan, August 15 is Memorial Day for the End of the War (or Memorial Ceremony for the War Dead).

この場所には、どうしても行きたかった。というのも、数年前に近くの町を訪れたけど、洪水で道路が通行止め。今回は天気が良かったから、戦艦がみれました。
「アラバマ」は、1942年から1943年にかけて米国東海岸沿いで使われました。1945年、西太平洋での作戦のため、再び艦隊に合流。第二次世界大戦後は、退役軍人を本土へ送還する任務に貢献。
日本では、8月15日は「終戦記念日」。

Yes, my grandpa was a solider during World War II. He often talked about war when I was a kid. Today is 8/15 in Japan. Since the war ended, 81 years have passed.

Eighty-one years may have passed, but the stories carried through families remind us that history is never truly distant. Yes, it was a sunny day. We wanted to stay long, but we had to leave to go to the next destination.

I love touring that place. I assume you went through the submarine, the USS Drum.
