Royal Hawaiian Center

I haven’t written about this shopping center yet.

In November of last year, I visited Hawaii. I traveled with my parents, so we joined a group tour for Japanese tourists.

Royal Hawaiian Center:2201 Kalākaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815

After arriving at the Honolulu airport, we went to the LeaLea Lounge in the Royal Hawaiian Center. The lounge was big, and tourists were able to rest and get free drinks.

Following the tour guide, we went to the American steakhouse in the same center.

Do you know Wolfgang’s Steakhouse? If you live in New York, you might know. The first restaurant was founded in 2004 by Wolfgang Zwiener. He was a headwaiter for over 40 years.

Hawaii’s comfort food is Loco Moco. It consists of white rice, topped with a beef patty and brown gravy, and a sunny-side-up fried egg.

Loco Moco is well-known among Japanese people. In 1949, the dish was originally created for teenagers who wanted something different from typical American sandwiches.

The restaurant server talked to us in fluent Japanese. Of course, we ordered Loco Moco. The taste was good. My dad ate it for the first time. I tried it before, but it was a different style.

After eating, we walked a little.

We stopped by ABC Store.

Hawaii is an island and different from the mainland. The key difference is cultural diversity, blending Polynesian roots with Asian influences.

The next day, during lunchtime, we ate outside at the café. Sometimes I give my food to pigeons and sparrows. It is not a problem in Florida. I did the same thing in Hawaii. The café owner immediately came and complained to me.

I apologized to him. I felt like I was in Japan. The local people were respectful and polite.

What a delightful and vivid travel memory! 🌺
You’ve beautifully captured not just the places, but the experience—the comfort of the lounge, the charm of the steakhouse, and the joy of trying local flavors like Loco Moco. I especially loved the little details, like the Japanese-speaking staff and your father trying the dish for the first time—it makes the story feel warm and personal. A lovely blend of travel, culture, and family moments! ✨

Thanks for sharing this. Your descriptions are great. It seems a bit mainland mall, cruise ship chic… I wish there was more native elements.

Thank you for your message🙏 Cruise ship activities are fun. In general, September and October are not expensive in Florida. I booked so early…😅
