I visited the Iga Ninja Museum. Ninja museums are not only in Mie Prefecture, but also in Shiga and Nagano Prefectures. This time I chose this place because it is the closest to my hometown. フロリダ州唯一の洞窟がある「Florida Caverns State Park」
フロリダ州の北西部にあるマリアンナ(Marianna)という町には、「Florida Caverns State Park」という州立公園があります。州都であるタラハシーから、車で1時間程度の距離です。 この州立公園には、州内で唯一の洞窟があります。洞窟内に入ると、鍾乳洞があり、神秘的な世界が広がります。所々、ライトアップされているところもあって、美しいです。 以前、岐阜県の洞窟内で鍾乳洞を見たことがありますが、ここの洞窟内の気温と比べると、もっと涼しかったのを覚えています。 毎週木曜日から月曜日まで、ツアーガイドさんが付いて洞窟内を案内してくれます。フロリダ州内で洞窟があるのはここだけなので、興味がある人はぜひ訪れてみてください。 Florida Caverns State Park のロケーション：3345 Caverns Road Marianna FL 32446 (アンダーラインをクリックすると、公式サイトへいきます) Photos by LILI Read more

折り紙で作ってみた♪
子供の頃によく遊んでいた「折り紙」。折り紙は、世界的に日本文化の1つとしても知られています。7世紀頃に中国から紙の製法が伝わったのが始まりで、後に「和紙」が生まれました。当時は写経や記録を付ける際に使われていましたが、室町時代に入ると武家達の間で紙包みの礼法が考えられ始め、江戸時代になると紙の生産量が増えたため、庶民でも折り紙が楽しめるようになりました。 今では、日本のスーパーや100円ショップ等、どこでも手に入る折り紙。折る技も様々で、「これ本当に折り紙で作ったの？」ってビックリするような作品もあります。もう芸術そのもの！ 以前、娘達の学校のアートのクラスで、折り紙で何かを折るという課題がありました。それなら私が！と思い、折り方のほとんどを忘れてしまいましたが、少し頑張ってみました。娘達と一緒に折って出来た作品を写真で撮って先生に送ったところ、大喜び！ 最初に先生から紹介された折り方の参考ビデオでは、犬をモチーフに作るというもの。でも、折るというよりハサミでチョキチョキ切ってて、思わず「それは折り紙じゃない！切り紙になってるぞ！」とツッコミたくなりました。 切り紙は切り紙で、面白いと思います。昔、日本で切り絵の展覧会に行ったことがありますが、素敵な作品の数々が展示されていました。今度は、切り絵にも挑戦してみたいです。 Photo by LILI Read more
