Bok Tower Gardens in Florida

I was on vacation until 12/23, so I visited some places in central Florida. I wanted to visit the place “Bok Tower Gardens” in Lake Wales, Florida.

12月23日まで休暇だったので、フロリダ中部の観光スポットへ行ってきました。その中でもずっと行きたかったところが、レイク ウェールズにある 「Bok Tower」というところです。

What is the Bok Tower Gardens?

「ボック・タワー・ガーデンズ」とは？

Edward William Bok was born in 1863. He was originally from Den Helder, Netherlands and immigrated to the United States at the age of six. He was from a poor family and later became a successful writer and editor.

エドワード・ウィリアム・ボックさんは1863年に生まれました。オランダのデン・ヘルダー出身で、6歳でアメリカに移住。貧しい家庭出身でしたが、後に作家や編集者として成功。

Late in life, he became a philanthropist and dedicated to this tower and beautiful garden until he died in 1930.

晩年は慈善家となり、1930年に亡くなるまで、この「ボック・タワー・ガーデンズ」のために貢献しました。

To build the Bok Tower, several renowned architects and artists joined a team. Not only the spectacular tower design, but also the special instrument “Carillon” is popular among visitors. Every day, the carillonneur plays a 30-minute bell concert.

ボックタワーを建てるために、何人かの有名な建築家や芸術家がチームに加わりました。壮大な塔のデザインだけでなく、特別な楽器「カリヨン」も訪れる人達から人気。毎日、演奏家が30分程度の鐘のコンサートを開催します。
