Fever

Hi, how are you?

I had a fever on Tuesday and Wednesday. I don’t have a fever now, but I have a sore throat. My kids were sick last week, so I got something from them.

I think treatment of the common cold is different in Japan and the US. For example,

  • Fever: In Japan, people avoid baths or showers. In America, many people take warm showers.
  • Cough or sore throat: In Japan, people drink hot water, sports drinks, or ginger tea. In America, warm tea with honey.
  • Loss of appetite: In Japan, people often eat rice porridge or soup. In America, it might vary by every family. I have heard many people eat chicken soup.

How do you treat the common cold?

I am recovering…
