I plan to return to Japan around November. I want to travel with my dad to the Tohoku (Northeast) region. I have always loved to travel. I have traveled together with someone, and I have also traveled alone.
When I was studying in Spain, I traveled to Madrid with a Taiwanese friend. We were going to stay for a few days in Madrid, but I didn’t have enough money at that time. My parents were against me going to Spain, so I worked and saved up the money for my studies abroad. My friend was from a wealthy family. She took care of me and arranged my train ticket and hotel reservation.
The day before we were to leave, she suddenly said to me, “Oh, I forgot to tell you. Our hotel room has only one twin bed.”
“What!?” I was surprised and asked her.
After a moment, she noticed something and said to me laughingly.
“You are my little sister!”
In Japanese culture, people usually don’t share the bed with friends. I had a dirty mind. HAHAHA 🤣
The next day, we were headed to Madrid. We had a terrible experience there. Her bags were stolen at the train station. We arrived safely at the hotel, but I was worried about continuing to travel. She was brave, so I trusted her. But I slept on the sofa at night. The bed size was small for two people.
Later, we visited many places together in Spain. Our friendship continued even after returning to our countries. A few months later, I visited Taiwan to see her. She showed me her hometown, Taipei.
I may visit Taipei again.
