I ate Chinese food in Hong Kong. The name of the restaurant is Jardin de Jade. I thought scallion pancakes in Shanghai style (上海葱油餅) were delicious.
I like dumplings. There are dumplings as well in Japan. But Chinese dumplings are bigger than Japanese ones, and the taste is different. Also, Chinese people eat only dumplings, while Japanese people prefer to eat dumplings with rice or ramen.
There are more differences. I like Ebi-Chiri (chili shrimp 干烧明虾/乾燒明蝦). I believed for a long time that it was Chinese food.
When I went to a restaurant in Taiwan, I tried to order it. The server didn’t understand, so my Taiwanese friend explained in Chinese. A little later, I got the food, but it was not what I was expecting.
According to some information, you can now eat Japanese-style chili shrimp in Taiwan and China. Many Japanese tourists have made the same request at restaurants. 😅
