I like art. My great-grandfather (grandmother’s father) was a western-style painter in Japan. He was somewhat famous in Mie prefecture.

Honestly, I don’t remember him well. He had lived with another family for a long time. He had three other daughters with different wives.
I learned to paint when I was a kid. I liked painting, but I was more interested in music. Next time, I will post about my favorite pianists.
➀ Frida Kahlo (1907-1954)

Frida Kahlo passed away over 70 years ago, but even today she is one of the most famous Mexican painters and well known as a feminist icon. I posted this blog in December of last year. ↓
Who are the biggest influences in your life? – Frida Kahlo and…?
When she was 18 years old, she and her boyfriend took the bus together and suddenly collided with an electric trolley car. After the crash, she spent most of her time in bed because of serious injuries. She had dreamed of becoming a doctor, but she gave up. While she was bedridden, she began painting.
She met her art teacher, Diego Rivera, and got married in 1929. However, their married life was not successful.
She always portrayed her physical and psychological pain.
➁ Salvador Dalí (1904-1989)

Salvador Dali was born in Catalonia, Spain. Do you know him?
“La única diferencia entre un loco y yo es que yo no estoy loco.”

Several times I have visited his art museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. The original museum opened in 1982 and moved to the new building in 2011. I know both buildings.

➂ Romero Britto (1963-)
Romero Britto is a Brazilian painter and sculptor. He has resided in Miami since 1988.
In 2009 or 2010, I became a personal shopper on a Japanese social shopping platform. Then I knew his name.

I took this photo before 2016. The new gallery moved to a different location in Miami Beach. 🙂
