What does your ideal home look like?

I am a minimalist. I was born and raised in a big city, so I know how convenient it is to live in the city.

But I like nature. I want to have a small house with land. If possible, I want to start a farm. Well, that is my dream after retiring.

Home maintenance costs are not cheap in Florida and Japan. My family (6 members) currently live in an old house (5 bedrooms) in Florida. We paid off our mortgage early, but the property tax is over $3000 every year. We plan to replace the roof this year, so we save a little money by cutting tree branches (my job) and cutting grass (my husband’s job).

My goal is to buy a property in Japan. I don’t know if it will be a second house or an invested property. I have seen real estate listings every day. Some houses are affordable.

Wow, 3800000 yen (=$26,000) in my hometown (Japan)!

This house is 3LDK and in good condition. 😊

Nowadays, house prices are so high in Florida. Finding a house for less than $300,000 is almost impossible. My father-in-law has a rental property. When he bought it, the price was less than $100,000 (3 bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms). Our house was also less than $200,000 (originally it was listed as $225,000) in 2016.
