What skills or lessons have you learned recently?

I am learning every day.

For example, I have learned how to use WordPress tools recently. 😅

I used to be a content writer for other websites and magazines (before digitizing). I was always assigned to do something for clients. So, my work was simpler than now.

How about now? As a blogger, I have to do everything. It is harder, but I like now more than before.

In 2017, I started working as a freelance content writer without any experience. To gain experience, I accepted low-paying jobs at first. My first client was a non-experienced software engineer. He had built his website, but he could not write the content. 

I got paid about $3-4 for each short article. Each article was about 300 words in Japanese, which is equivalent to 150 words in English. (The number is an estimate.)

Compared to the paper magazine, it was cheap. I got paid $50 for each travel article in 2012. Well, I couldn’t complain about the rate. I was a beginner writer and wanted to improve my writing skills.

Soon after ending the contract with this client, I got another job offer. My second job was travel-related content. Each article was longer, and I got paid more. I tried to write each article within an hour and focused on accuracy. Then, I chose my specialty and built my portfolio.

Writing is my passion and hobby.

I cannot write just for money…
