New York is culturally diverse. According to the article, more than 800 languages are spoken in the city.

The Statue of Liberty was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi in 1886.

Do you know where the oldest escalator in America is located?

It is located inside Macy’s Herald Square. The Otis Elevator Company built wooden escalators in 1902 and upgraded between 1920 and 1930. Those escalators are still operating.

Photos are a little old . . .

What a fascinating piece of New York history! I had no idea that the wooden escalators at Macy’s Herald Square were so old and are still in operation. It’s amazing how some historical treasures continue to serve people even after more than a century. Thank you for sharing these interesting facts and lovely photographs.

Thank you as well. I like visiting historical sites. As a tourist, I think New York is nice. I don’t know about living there … Someone said that winter is very cold ⛄🙂

I remember that you grew up in New Jersey, right? How is the weather over there? Here, the temperature is fine in the afternoon 🏖️
