If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?

I would invite Anthony Bourdain, but it will never happen. He passed away in 2018. He was an American celebrity chef and author. I liked his travel documentary and watched all the episodes. He was a foodie and tried different cuisines while traveling.

Even today, many people have talked about him. I think he was the one who understood food culture well.

Guy Fieri is also a famous restaurateur and author. I think I saw him at the SOBE Food and Wine Festival when I was a student of hospitality management.

The reason I want to invite a chef or restaurateur is because I am not good at cooking. My old (non-Japanese) classmates said the food I cooked was delicious. I cooked salmon teriyaki.

For me, eating is more fun than cooking. 😅

A long time ago, I attended a fruit carving class in Thailand. 🙂

Thank you. Yes, I also attended vegetable and soap carving classes. It was fun. Because I was carving for an hour without talking. 😅

I loved his shows too… so real and authentic. His voice, his choice of places, the way he presented everything—so different from those overly cheerful, staged food shows. His work had genuine heart.

Yes, I was shocked when I heard his sad news. It was sudden. He looked fine in the show.

Recently I watched James May’s travel documentary. It was fun. 👍🙂

Have you seen Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain – I’ve watched it and really moved me about his struggles, perspectives, and his life, especially his days and also, how he used to find places and put his experiences into words!
