I like reading books. But I don’t like reading the same book over and over again.
I have already written about my favorite books, so I want to share my favorite Japanese comics.
Rich Dad Poor Dad ・The Secret・Como Agua Para Chocolate – LILI EN FLORIDA
I used to be a manga fan, and I had over 70 comics. I sold most of them when I was a college student.
- Marmalade Boy (ママレードボーイ)
It was written and illustrated by Wataru Yoshizumi. She is one of my favorite manga artists. After publishing, it was also aired as an anime television series. A live-action film was released in 2018.
The story is a romantic comedy. One day, the high school kid’s life suddenly changed. Her parents are getting divorced because they want to swap their partners. Their partners have a son. Instead of living separately, they all start living together. She meets their son. He is a handsome boy. She falls in love with him. But he has an ex. She met his ex-girlfriend while they were in the theme park. She also has a long-time male friend. He falls in love with her. Who is going to be her boyfriend…?
By the way, I love the anime opening song.
- Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube (地獄先生ぬ〜べ〜)
It was written by Sho Makura and illustrated by Takeshi Okano. An elementary school teacher fights with monsters to protect his students. This comic was the most popular with Rorouni Kenshin (るろうに剣心) in Weekly Jump magazine.
Both comics were published in the 1990s. I know old comics and anime well, such as Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン), Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボール), Slam Dunk (スラムダンク), and Inuyasha (犬夜叉).
