Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
I know some countries don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day.
As the tradition of Japan, Valentine’s Day is February 14. Women give chocolates to men. White Day is March 14 (one month after Valentine’s Day). Men give gifts to women.
In Western culture, Valentine’s Day is a day for couples. In Japan, Valentine’s Day is not limited to couples.
Different types of chocolates:
- Giri Choco 義理チョコ: “Obligation Chocolate”
- Honmei Choco 本命チョコ: “True Feeling Chocolate”
- Tomo Choco 友チョコ: “Friend Chocolate”
- Kazoku Choco 家族チョコ: “Family Chocolate”
- Jibun Choco 自分チョコ: “Self-Given Chocolate”
