California (1)

Little Tokyo

In the past, Little Tokyo was the largest Japanese community in America. Over 100 years ago, Japanese people started immigrating to California and settled in southeast Los Angeles.

Before World War II, more than 30000 people lived in Little Tokyo. I don’t know how many Japanese people live today. I think the Japanese population is smaller than before.

I met Nikkeijin(日系人) in Japan. Nikkeijin means people (jin) of Japanese descent (Nikkei).

One of my friends in Japan was born in Brazil. She immigrated to Japan with her parents when she was 10. She technically moved back because her grandparents emigrated to Brazil in the 1940s.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

I have visited California several times, so I will post more photos later.

See ya!
