What profession do you admire most and why?
I am surprised that several bloggers chose teacher and teaching jobs. I am a Japanese language teacher for adult learners.
I respect elementary school teachers. One of my Japanese friends is an elementary school teacher. She has been busy every day. School teachers are not popular jobs in Japan. I think language teachers depend on the workplace. Also, now there are not a lot of job opportunities because of technological change.
I admire soldiers. Why? Because their mission is to protect their country. In fact, I wanted to join the Japan Self-Defense Forces when I was a high school student. At that time, joining the military was very competitive. So, I decided to go to college.
In college, I met a male student. He was an English major and wanted to join the military when he was a high school student, but he failed. He tried again and joined the Japanese Air Force after graduating.
American soldiers are different from Japanese soldiers. They have to be physically and mentally tougher. Some of them go to war…
