I visited the Iga Ninja Museum. Ninja museums are not only in Mie Prefecture, but also in Shiga and Nagano Prefectures. This time I chose this place because it is the closest to my hometown. It takes only 1.5 hours by car from Nagoya.
伊賀流忍者博物館へ行ってきました。忍者施設はここ以外に、滋賀県や長野県にもあります(Googleで検索したらもっとあるようで…)。名古屋から1番近いところなので、今回はココへ。名古屋からは、車で約1時間半程度です。
Last time, I wrote that this place was more interesting than Ghibli Park. The museum itself was not interesting…but the ninja show was interesting. I think foreign tourists are welcome here. Somehow, my husband was invited to join the show. He was taught how to throw a shuriken (Japanese concealed weapon). And he received a loud applause from the audience after he succeeded on the first try. He said that the shuriken was much heavier than darts, but the way of throwing was somewhat similar.
前回ジブリパークより面白かったと書きましたが、博物館はそれほど面白くなく…。でも、施設内の忍者ショーが面白かったです。特に外国から来てる観光客は歓迎されるのかな？どういうわけか、私の夫がショーに参加するように声をかけてくれました。夫は手裏剣の打ち方(投げるじゃなくて打つと言うそうです)を教わって、その場で披露することに。一応1回で成功したため、見ていた観客の方達から大きな拍手を頂きました。夫いわく、手裏剣はダーツより重かったそうですが、似ているとのこと。
There are also Iga-Ueno Castle and the Memorial Museum of Old Basho in the same area. I like historical sites, so we walked around.
敷地内には忍者博物館以外に、「伊賀上野城」や「芭蕉翁記念館」があります。私は歴史的スポットが好きなので、みんなで散策。
I had another reason to visit the Iga-Ueno area. I have been looking for real estate properties in Aichi and Mie prefectures. The houses are cheaper in Iga-Ueno than in other areas. I wanted to know the reason why. Well, I knew the reason because the town is located in the countryside. In the future, one in three houses will be vacant. I will wait to purchase until that time comes.
今回伊賀上野に行った理由が、他にもあります。前から愛知県や三重県の不動産物件を見ていますが、伊賀上野は他のエリアより家が安いです。安い理由は何だろう？と思っていたのですが、まあ結論からすると田舎だからかな。今後3軒に1軒は空き家になるとのこと。購入は、もう少し先にします。

My grandmother was originally from Ise, so I often went to Mie Prefecture when I was a child. By the way, her father (my great-grandfather, he passed away over 30 years ago.) was a handsome painter. He was quite famous, and he was married four times. Wow! I heard that my grandmother was beautiful when she was young. My grandfather fell in love with her… But I’m not beautiful at all. I think I have a little bit of her genes… Hahaha
私の祖母が伊勢出身のため、子供の頃はよく三重県に行きました。ちなみに彼女の父(私の曽祖父で、30年以上前に亡くなってます。名前は山本道乗で、10年ぐらい前までは、地元の美術館やアートギャラリーで作品が展示されたり…)は、かなりイケメンの画家でした。地元では結構有名だったそうで、奥さんが4回変わってます。凄いなぁ！私の祖母も若い頃は美人だったそうで、祖父が惚れたとか…でも、私は全然美人じゃないです。少しは祖母の遺伝子を受け継いでると思いますが…。(笑)
