Last Friday, we visited the new Ghibli Park at Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan. The park is well-known overseas (especially in Asia), so we went there with high expectations. Unfortunately, we weren’t satisfied at all. There were almost no attractions… Apparently, there are quite a few people on the Internet who commented that the park was boring. If we were Ghibli fans, we would have enjoyed it more… I like My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away, but I’m not a big fan…
先週金曜日、愛・地球博記念公園内にできたジブリパークへ行ってきました。海外(アジア圏)ではそこそこ知名度があるみたいなので期待して行ったのですが、感想としては少しもの足りず。体感出来るアトラクションが殆どなく…どうやらインターネット上で調べてみたら、つまらないとコメントしている人が結構いるようで、きっとジブリファンだったらもっと楽しめたのかな…。私も「となりのトトロ」や「千と千尋の神隠し」が好きですが、大ファンというわけではなく…
I and my husband have not liked amusement parks and theme parks…but we had to take the kids somewhere, so we decided to go to Ghibli Park rather than Legoland. We chose Ghibli Park because Legoland is also in Florida. Legoland might have been a better choice.
もともと私も夫も遊園地やテーマパークが余り好きではなく…でも、子供達をどこかへ連れて行かないとと思い、レゴランドよりジブリパークを選んで行くことに。レゴランドはフロリダ州にもあるのでジブリパークを選んだのですが、レゴランドの方が良かったかも。
We also visited the university where I graduated. The university is located near the park, so we had lunch on campus. I (and my husband) wanted to see the professor, but he was not there. Maybe next time, we will see him.
せっかくなので、ジブリパークまで行ったついでに卒業した大学にも行ってきました。私の卒業した大学が愛・地球博記念公園のすぐ近くにあるため、大学内の学食で食べてきました。自分(と夫)がお世話になった教授に会いたかったのですが、いらっしゃらず。たぶん、次回会えるかな。
The next day, we went to the Iga-ryu Ninja Museum in Mie Prefecture. I know I shouldn’t compare both, but we enjoyed the Ninja museum more. (^^;)
ジブリパークで満足出来なかったため、翌日は三重県にある伊賀流忍者博物館へ行ってきました。比較してはいけなことは分かってるけど、忍者村の方が楽しかったなぁ。(^^;)
