I think I am both a leader and a follower.
私はリーダーであると同時に、フォロワー(従うタイプ)でもあると思います。
I am a woman and a mom. Oh, I need to add “wife”, but I haven’t done anything special for my husband since we met. Thanks to his understanding, I live my life the way I want. I rarely put on makeup and wear fancy clothes now. When I was young, I was completely different. My interest was makeup and fashion.
私は女性で母親です。あ、ここに[妻」と付け加えなければいけないか、でも、出会った頃から夫のために特別なことは何もしてないから、まあいいや。夫の理解もあって、私は好きなように生きてます。今ではほとんど化粧もしないし、派手な服も着ません。若い頃の私は、全く違ってたかな。当時、興味のあったことは、化粧とファッションでした。
Generally, women tend to be kind, warm, gentle, and emotional. I think I have all of them. Really? I am not sure… Hahaha
一般的に女性は優して、温かくて、穏やかで、感情的な傾向があります。私はすべてを持っていると思っています。ホントに？あ、自信ない…。(笑)
Men are more likely than women to be perceived as leaders because they tend to be competitive. Women can also be leaders, but how many women are leaders in the world?
男性は競争心が強いため、女性よりもリーダーとして認識されやすいです。女性もリーダーになることは出来ますが、世界でリーダーになっている女性は何人いるかな？
You may disagree with my opinion. I don’t think men and women are academically different. The difference between men and women is brain and cognitive styles.
私の意見に反論する人が少なからずいると思いますが、学力的に男性と女性の間に差があるとは思いません。両者の違いを挙げるなら、それは脳や認知スタイル(人によって思考や認知能力が異なるため)。

After I read the article, I thought that there are also some gender differences in leadership (styles). By the way, I took a learning style test before. I was visual, logical and musical.
記事を読んで、リーダーシップ(スタイル)にも両者に差があるだろうなぁと思いました。ちなみに昔、学習スタイルテストを受けたことがあります。私は視覚、理論、音楽系でした。
I want to be a follower for my husband at home. I have been busy every day, so I don’t want to have responsibility or make decisions.
私は、家では夫に従いたいかな。毎日忙しいので、責任を持ちたくないし決断もしたくないし。
On the contrary, I have to be a leader for my parents. Because I don’t have anyone, I can ask for help. I am the first grandchild, and I have no other female cousins or no siblings. I have children, but they need to learn my family tradition and Japanese language. That is not easy (they were not born and raised in Japan…).
逆に親のために、私がリーダーにならなければいけない時があります。助けを求めることが出来る人が誰もいないためです。私は初孫で、いとこの中で唯一の女性で兄妹もいません。自分には子供がいますが、実家で代々続く伝統や日本語を学ばなければならないので、彼らにとって、簡単なことではないと思います(日本で生まれ育ってないので…) 。
My future life will be tougher than now…😅
これからの私の人生、今よりもっと大変になるだろうな…😅

I agree it is good to know when to be both and to have nuance. I recognize that, for the sake of peace, I could step aside and there are other times there has to be a person that takes charge of the situation. Mike
