Last week, my husband took me to the Fritanga restaurant. The food was delicious. In South Florida, “fritanga” generally refers to Nicaraguan food. A long time ago, he studied at a university. There was a popular fritanga restaurant near the university campus, so he often had lunch there.
I think Nicaraguan foods are similar to Cuban foods. I first saw a Queso Frito (fried cheese), and I said without thinking, “It looks like French toast!” The restaurant employee was laughing. 😅
