My Favorite Place (1) Ancient Spanish Monastery ⛪

私は仏教徒なんですが、この場所を訪れるのが好きです。

I am a Buddhist*. But I like visiting this place, the Ancient Spanish Monastery (Monasterio Español de Sacramenia).

住んでいるところから少し離れたところにありますが…

It is located a little far from my home…

* I can visit historical sites.

How wonderful is that Spanish Monastery but I have a different feeling, small one in my mind. May I express that?
Well, before you permit me to do so, I express my delight in having your ancient Japanese wind passing through my abode. I mean, I have great regards for ancient Japanese civilisation. In addition to that my excitement is because of your profile info of translator. I’m a Ph D in Translation. Thank you!
Thank you very much for liking my post on Music Trust! 🙏

Thank you very much. 🙏I am glad to hear that you have a PhD in Translation. If you need a translation from English or Spanish to Japanese, please let me know anytime. 😊

        Sure! Thanks!
I remembered all martial arts movies on backdrop of traditional monasteries in China & Japan.
I think they too must be as marvellous as this Spanish one which you have photographed.
I remember that monastery in Kurusawa’s movie made of wood and how those protagonists spend night in chilly weather there .. rain drops from roof etc ..
I remembered all that thinking of you being Japanese.
You are a Lili (I think Violet in English) like that of Wordsworth’s Lucy by a mossy stone.

Yes, I will approach you. Similarly, if any of your acquaintances wants to translate a book from English into Hindi, Marathi, approach me.

It seems you didn’t approve my comment (stating I like ancient Japanese monastery shown in Akira Kurosawa’s films). That’s ok 🙏

Hello, I am sorry. Due to the hurricane, my internet connection was unstable yesterday. 🙏 I read your comments today.

I am surprised that you know Kurosawa movies. Is Kurosawa famous in India?

I want to ask you…What is the meaning/term of “Bollywood” in India?

I like Bollywood movies and sometimes I watch them. My favorite actor is Shah Rukh Khan.

Most Japanese people think like Bollywood movies = Hindi movies (I think so…). But there are other language movies. For example, Marathi (your language), Tamil, Telugu and English…

I am also interested in the number of TV channels/stations in India.

        Japan is only Japanese…

        Thank you for your comments.😊

Bollywood refers to movies made in Bombay. It should have been Punewood or Kolhapurwood because first movies and many movie makers came from these two places Kolhapur & Pune but Bombay being financial hub movie industry made it a place to prosper. Hindi movies were primarily made in Bombay (Mumbai now) but they were made in all other parts of India including Madras (now Chennai). I will continue …

OK, so Bollywood movies mean primarily Hindi movies, but not all Indian movies (the word Bollywood is Bombay + Hollywood).

What are other language movies called in India? How do people watch different language dramas and movies? With subtitles? How do you communicate with other language speakers in India?

I am sorry to ask you many questions. 🙏 I am interested.

I used to have Chinese friends. One was from Shanghai and a Mandarin speaker. The other one was from Hong Kong and a Cantonese speaker. I didn’t know either, so we communicated in English. 🙂

Mandarin and Cantonese are different languages. In Chinese and Japanese, the writing system (kanji characters) is somewhat similar, but pronunciation and sentence structure are different.

South Indian films are Tollywood etc. people watch with subtitles in English. They communicate in respective languages, Hindi & English.
