Today, I want to write about a Mongolian rock band. Do you know anything about Mongolian history? Or have you ever listened to Mongolian music?

I have never been to Mongolia. Therefore, I don’t know much but I know a little bit about Genghis Khan. 😅

He was the founder and first king (Khan) of the Mongol Empire (1206-1368).

What else I know is the Mongolian folklore “Sukh’s White Horse”. I read it when I was an elementary school student.

A few weeks ago, I was watching MVs and I found a Mongolian rock band. So cool!

“The Hu” was formed in 2016 and currently consists of 4 members. They play traditional instruments and do throat singing.

I have watched their MVs. My favorite one is this (Wolf Totem). ↓

Well, I like motorcycles. That’s the reason why this MV was so catchy. Not only that, I like a mix of modern and traditional music styles.

By the way, I heard that the Japanese kawaii metal band “Babymetal” is popular in America. For me, the famous Japanese rock band is “X Japan”. Yoshiki, who is the leader of the band and producer, currently lives in America.

He is a friend of Gene Simmons (Kiss) and sometimes collaborates with other musicians and artists. He can play both piano and drums, and his composed songs are a mix of rock and classical styles.

Were you surprised that I listen to rock music?

Of course, I do.🎵

Music makes me feel good.😉

I do know a bit about Mongolian history since I studied history in university but I don’t know much about their music so I’ll definitely check this song out.

I left a comment on this post but it seems to be gone so it may be stuck in your spam. I just wanted to say that I do know a bit about Mongolian history since I’m a history major and studied East Asian history but this was still interesting. I had never heard Mongolian music before and didn’t think it would go this hard. Absolutely loved the song.

Thank you for your reply and Sorry to approve your comment today, Pooja. I have been so busy lately.🙏

Wow, you are a history major! So cool!!!

I like history and culture, too. I finished my education a long time ago, but my Bachelors degree from Japanese university was Spanish and Latinamerican studies( my speciality was gender, culture, history and art in Spanish speaking countries). After moving to America, I got my second Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management to work in the restaurant and hotel industry. As a foreigner and non-English speaker, it was difficult to find a job in America with only a language related degree. So I returned to school. I worked for a few years in the hospitality industry and became a Japanese teacher 13 years ago. Later, I got my master’s degree in Foreign Language(Non-English) Education. To me, English is a foreign language…hahaha😅

So far, I like my job. I talk to learners from different countries and learn new things everyday.

Are you interested in Japanese history and culture too?

Keep in touch, I sometimes will stop by ur blog. And Good luck with ur studies! 🙂😉

That’s totally okay, I know how busy life can get.

Wow, that’s an impressive amount of degrees. I did study Latin America quite a but too but mostly the colonial history. My sister has a Bachelors in Hospitality Management too! It’s a really great degree but yeah it can be difficult if English isn’t your first language. Teaching Japanese sounds great, I think teaching in general can be so rewarding.

Yes, very much so. I studied a little bit of Japanese history but now much. I find it very fascinating and I was telling my friend who now resides in South Korea that we’ll visit Japan together when I visit her. She wasn’t able to go this Christmas as she got sick but the rest of her family went and she felt as though she missed out a bit. Japanese culture is something that I’ve always found really interesting as well.

Thank you and I’ll try to stop by your blog too! 😊
