来週から冬休み♪
今週、子供達はテスト週間。昨日、長女と次女がFASTテストを受けて、今日息子が受けます (ムラゴンには、現地時間の昼頃に投稿しました) 。このテストは1年に3回あって、新しい学年になってからは、今回が2回目。 実は、次女がちょっと心配。去年、学力不足で補習授業を受けました。日本と違って、アメリカは成績が悪いと進級出来ません。学校によっても違いますが、一定の成績に達しない場合は、再試験、補習授業、追加課題等が課せられたり、留年があったりします。 次女は、ELA (日本の国語のようなクラス)が苦手。少し前に彼女が描いた絵を投稿しましたが、英語の間違いがあったり…以前はよく、鏡文字を書いていました。 私も夫も、英語は第二言語。ネイティブじゃない親がいるのに、よく頑張ってるなぁと思いますが、ここはアメリカ。親が非英語話者だろうと英語話者だろうと、本人がちゃんとやることをやらないとダメ。日本でも競争はあるけど、アメリカの方がもっと弱肉強食の社会だと思います。 現実的な話、親の所得によって住むエリアが違ってくるし、住んでるエリアによって子供達が通う学校も変わってきます。 他のエリアに住んでいても、学校側がOKであれば、入学が可能なことも。でも、学校側もレベルや知名度を上げたいので、希望してもなかなか入るのが難しい。私立学校もありますが、学費が高いです。 今週のテストが終われば、来週から冬休み♪ 今年と同じく、来年もまた日本の小学校に通う予定…それまでに、ひらがなを全部覚えて欲しいなぁ。できれば、カタカナも。 先週だったかな?次女のノートを見たら、日本語のフレーズがいっぱい書いてありました。 日本語に興味を持ってくれている間に、頑張ろうっと!日本語を教えることが出来るのは、私しかいないから…😅 Photo by Pixabay 来週から冬休み♪ – LILI EN FLORIDA(muragon.com) @liliflorida on Tumblr Read more
