Yes, I am a lifelong learner. I started blogging in 2023. The reason was simple. I wanted to create my personal page. Through blogging, I have learned how to edit the website and use other tools such as Canva and Adobe. Lately, I have been interested in 3D printing. I took a CAD course once, but I have never worked as a technician. I’m 43 now. It is not too late to start something I wanted to do.
Learning and studying are slightly different. In my opinion,
- Learning: the gain of knowledge and skills.
- Studying: the process of learning and mastering specific skills.
I have some goals to achieve in 7 years.
- Write and publish short stories
- Master technical design skills
- Run an online shop (for my daughter)
- Improve cooking skills
In July 2023, I posted my first blog. At first, I only wrote blogs in Japanese. In December, I started writing in English as well.
I will keep blogging. In learning and writing, age doesn’t matter.

What are you working on to improve your cooking skills? Do let me know! I want to learn how to brew tea.
My dad was a sushi chef, and my cousin is a chef, too. I don’t want to compare myself to them…😢
I can make easy meals like soup, stir-fries, curry, and pasta. But I can’t make nigiri sushi and desserts. Someday I want to make cakes and pies.
I will post photos when I make something (if I succeed) 😅
What about tea? Can you share tips so that I am independently able to brew my own tea
About matcha (in the US, matcha = green tea)? I can write about it in the next blog 🍵
Amazing!! I wrote about sitolia and I am now preparing to write about gulli/gilli danda. I want to learn to be able to understand Japanese and speak it within one month. How can I go about it? Blog about that as well!
OK, I will write about that too. Thank you 😊

What an inspiring journey! Your story beautifully proves that learning has no age limit. I admire your curiosity and determination to keep growing—from blogging and website editing to Canva, Adobe, CAD, and now 3D printing.
Your distinction between learning and studying is thoughtful and insightful. Most of all, I love your seven-year vision. Setting meaningful goals and steadily working towards them is a wonderful example for all of us.
Keep writing, keep learning, and keep believing in yourself.
Thank you. Yes, I will!
Sorry, actually the question is stupid if one is a lifelong learner. One can’t avoid learning as long as one lives. It’s important what do we learn. Learning per se has no value.
