What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
I don’t know if this is the best piece of advice… A long time ago, my grandpa said to me, “Don’t get married to a man who is addicted to *Wine, Women, and Dice.”
*In Japanese, Wine 飲む, Dice 打つ and Women 買う. Wine means drinking alcohol, Women mean buying prostitutes and Dice means gambling.
Because those were major entertainments for Japanese men in the past.
So, I chose a man who dislikes those.
Recently, his parents celebrated a golden (50th wedding) anniversary. They are middle school sweethearts and have been together for 58 years. We learned from them to build trust in marriage.
My husband and I have been together for 20 years. How many times we have ever had arguments…
We are an interracial couple. Our nationality, first language, race, and religion… are all different. Compared to other couples, we often have intercultural misunderstandings.
To avoid having misunderstandings, we have always been honest with each other.
Marriage is not easy…😅
