What do you enjoy most about writing?

➀ Research before writing

I don’t like studying, but I like learning.

I started writing in 2017, and then I called myself a copywriter. Nowadays, I am a content writer.

What is the difference?

  • Content Writer: The purpose is to entertain and educate readers. Usually a long form.  How many words? I think over 1000 words in English and over 1500 words in Japanese. Most content writers write a lot. My max is approximately 3000 words in English and 6000 words in Japanese per day.
  • Copywriter: The purpose is to persuade readers. Usually short form.
  • Blogger: The purpose is to share his/her thoughts and experiences with readers.
  • Writer: a person who writes
  • Content Creator: Not only write, but also create video and audio content.

This is my understanding. To write longer articles, I need to research. Researching is fun. Well, academic writing was not fun…

➁ Express my feelings

Like other bloggers’ answers, I enjoy writing because I can express my feelings. I tell jokes, but I am not talkative. What!? Yeah, I am a teacher, and I was a tour guide before. I want to separate my work and personal life.

➂ Share with other bloggers

I like reading articles and blogs. They don’t need to be perfect. My writing is not perfect either. I often make grammar mistakes and misspellings.

But I always write my thoughts.

Everyone has a story.

Thank you for reading. 🙏

Hi, thank you. 😊 I read your blog. Do you live in Nigeria? Efo Elegusi, Amala and Ewedu look yummy. I saw food photos on Google. Do you eat curry?

Yes, I’m a Yoruba man from the Western Region of Nigeria who eats all the foods above – Yummy.

We do eat a lot of pepper and, of course, curry.

Thanks for stopping by at my blog, too.

Loved the differences you put out. I do not bother with these. Sometimes I feel like writing research paper on my blog, then I realize “Oh, I need to read and put references if I want to do that”.

I like writing, but I don’t like writing very long. Especially when I had to follow the detailed instructions(e.g.APA style and how many pages…), oh, too complicated…😵‍💫

When I was a student, I always wondered if profs really read all the papers that students wrote. My personality was like that. So I didn’t choose to be a researcher. My GPA was not bad… I will not return to college/ graduate school as a student forever.😅

Writing for fun is more appealing tbh. I had a Professor in my last semester who took off points for little mistake on citation on Discussion Board. That’s not even paper 💀

Oh, are you a college student now? Well, I have the same experience. At least, your prof read students’ writing. Reducing points is not good…

Graduate profs were more open-minded compared to college profs. My area of specialty was Foreign Language Education, and I was the only one who was not an English speaker. Profs were English speakers and had teaching experiences abroad. I had a lot of discussion time and presentations in the class. Everyone (including profs) was friendly and brought snacks and drinks.

One day, a prof showed before and after eating a potato chip to students and asked, “Do you know the difference? Before eating, it is countable, right? How about after eating? (Then he showed his chew up.) It is uncountable!”

Oh, gross!!!🤢 I thought then. But somehow I still remember that. 🤣

I finished graduate school 5 years ago, when I was in my 30s. One of the profs was my age. Of course, I respected him, but in Japan, profs are generally over 45 or older. I am over 40 now. 😅

Good luck with your studies. 😊

Haha, great experience. Nope, I am no longer a college student. I graduated in May.
