Generation Gap and Technology

There are roughly six generations.
- Traditionalists: born 1925 to 1945
- Baby Boomers: born 1946 to 1964
- Generation X: born 1965 to 1980
- Generation Y (Millennials): born 1981 to 1994/6
- Generation Z: born 1997 to 2012
- Generation Alpha: born after the early 2010s/2013-
My kids were born between 2013 and 2022. They are growing up surrounded by technology. I agree that technology makes life more convenient. At the same time, many kids do miss face-to-face interactions.
I am generation Y (Millennials). Have you ever experienced a generation gap at school or in the workplace?
I was a little surprised when I talked to Gen Z. Over five years ago, we talked about dating. I have never used dating apps, but she did. Dating apps existed when I was young. But back then, sugar dating (finding a sugar daddy or sugar mommy) was more commonly known in Japan.
AI is changing our daily lives. After reading experiences of dating AI boyfriends and girlfriends, I was more surprised.
I don’t criticize them, but how do they date?
