What does it mean to be a kid at heart?

I am a mom of 4, so I spend time with my kids every day. Kids are innocent and curious. I want to be a kid at heart. Adults think too much…😅

This is my son’s drawing.  ↓

I thought an alien (minion) has legs and tries to catch something.

He said that the pencil is happy under the sun (180° rotation).

What is this?↓

Why is the sun yellow?

I think the sun looks red. In general, Japanese kids draw the sun in red.

What about you? What color is the sun?

I am personally interested in the relationship between language and color. 😊

I use yellow for sun always. Now that you have mentioned, I do realize that, yes, Japanese art portrays sun in red color. Never gave it much thought. Very interesting! Also, these drawings are adorable 😍

Thank you. 😊 My son is 6 years old.

I don’t know why Japanese people say so. The other example is traffic lights: blue, yellow, and red, not green…the actual color is green. Green veggies are sometimes called blue veggies (maybe China too?).

Nice post…love the uninhibited expression in kids’ drawings ❤️

Re: the sun… not to get all science geeky here, but I’m into astronomy…it’s actually is a type G main-sequence star, informally called a yellow dwarf, though its light is actually white. There are red stars, orange, yellow, yellow-white, white and blue, with temperatures generally ascending in this order.

Thank you, Darryl-san.🙏😊 I saw the sun now. It was not red… 😅

My daughter is experimenting with more colors. She’s decided to portray her own colors instead of following tradition. Sometimes the sea is purple 😊
