What brings a tear of joy to your eye? In 2022…

A long story short, I am not an emotional person at all. I don’t cry. When I cried the last time…? 2 years ago?

I share my experience of happiness after the pain.

In 2022, my daughter was born. I gave birth 3 times before, so I knew the birth process and what labor pain feels like. I went to the hospital around 10 or 10:30AM.

I always chose to give birth naturally, so I waited. After 6 hours, I talked to the doctor, and he broke my water. Then, he left to eat dinner. Before leaving, he said to me, “You will not feel pain for at least the next 2 hours. I will be back soon.”

Okay, I nodded. But I started feeling pain quickly and called the nurse. The young nurse came and said to me, “You have to wait until your baby is ready. You can’t push with a contraction (because the cervix is not fully dilated)!”

What!? I felt my baby was coming out, so I yelled at her, “I can’t wait! Do something for me!”

Soon after that, an experienced nurse came and saw my process, and immediately called the doctor. She said to me loudly, “Oh, I see your baby’s head. You have to push now!”

So, my daughter was just born when the doctor entered the room. The nurses did a good job, so I didn’t have any health issues after delivering, and the doctor did the rest.

My little one will be 2 years old soon. When I see her face, I remember that I gave birth without a doctor.

This doctor is now 80 years old. The past 3 times, he helped me and is still working as a doctor.

He knew that I was an experienced mom and there were other doctors in the hospital. I respect and appreciate him. I don’t blame him and the young nurse.

Thanks to my kids, I have become stronger. Hahaha🤣

😀 that is a nice story Lili. I bet that doctor will always think to pay attention to a mother’s intuition 🙂 Mike

Luckily, I was OK, but my daughter was born with low blood sugar. I had gestational diabetes because of my age (I am not young) … She stayed in the NICU for a few hours.

Later I received medical bills. Of course, I paid attention to the details. Haha💸😅
